During my stay at Ithaka, I was pleasantly surprised by the prime location of the hostel. Situated along the beautiful Corniche, it provided easy access to both the Citadel of Qaitbay and the Library. The cozy and modern decor of the hostel, along with the vibrant common area filled with cushions, books, and games, created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The large and well-maintained bathrooms were also a plus. The QR code check-in and WiFi access added a modern touch to the hostel's services. Furthermore, the breakfast offered a delicious and filling mix of traditional Egyptian dishes. I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Ithaka for anyone visiting Alexandria.
Although my stay at Ithaka was mostly positive, there were a couple of drawbacks. the lack of clear gender-specific dorms caused some inconvenience for me and my friend, as we had booked for a female dorm but ended up with limited options.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making my Christmas stay even more enjoyable. I loved that the beds were comfortable, with soft pillows, cozy duvets, and individual lights and shelves. The free breakfast was a great perk, starting my day off with a delicious meal. Plus, the location was perfect, with all the city attractions just a short distance away.
The limited number of toilets for all the guests. It could get a bit crowded and inconvenient, especially during peak hours.

During our recent stay at Ithaka, we were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable bed and the availability of two pillows, allowing us to have a restful night's sleep. The individual light and socket were also convenient for charging our devices. The toilet and shower facilities were clean, and we appreciated the addition of a kitchen for those times when we wanted to prepare simple meals. The common room was a great place to meet other travelers and exchange stories. Being located near a busy street meant that it was easy to catch a tourist bus right in front of the hostel, making exploring the city hassle-free.
One drawback we encountered was the need to climb stairs, which could be challenging if you're traveling with heavy luggage. Additionally, the noise from the busy street may disturb light sleepers, so it's advisable to bring earplugs.

The bed, sheets, and blankets were clean and comfortable. I also appreciated the small drawer that I could lock to keep my belongings safe. The staff at the hostel were incredibly kind and helpful, making my first visit to the city enjoyable. Additionally, the location of the hostel was convenient and allowed me to easily explore the area.
One thing that bothered me was the cleanliness of the bathroom. With only one toilet and bathtub for the whole hostel, it was often dirty and not properly maintained.
